“Honesty is a virtue. Without honesty and truthfulness, you can’t be a journalist – a good journalist”.

This was the statement of Mr. Kenneth Roland Guda, EIC of Pinoy Weekly referring to what an elementary journalist did, during the 2nd SINAG Journalism Training Seminar held at Calamba Elementary School (CES), Feb. 26.

Anna May Batallones, Catalyst apprentice reported that she found a lost silver pearl ring and immediately told the speaker (Guda). She said that she stepped on it and thought it was a rock but when she looked, she found out it was a ring. “I think it is the right thing to do”, Batallones said upon returning the lost ring.

She said that her first option was to tell her adviser but her friends said that she should tell Guda. “Ang sinungaling ay kapatid ng magnanakaw at ayoko pong maging ganun”, She further said.
