Sinag's own cartoon!

Special thanks to JOHN PAUL MAMARIL from the University of Perpetual Help, Basic Ed Dept. for this wonderful cartoon that he made for us.

They gave it to us during the awarding ceremonies of the 2nd Sinag JTS. We were deeply touched and we promised to have it framed and displayed in our offices.

It is heartfelt gestures like these from students and teachers that make our social responsibility work so satisfying and worthwhile. Thanks once again to all the kids and schools who helped make our 2nd Sinag JTS a success!

“Honesty is a virtue. Without honesty and truthfulness, you can’t be a journalist – a good journalist”.

This was the statement of Mr. Kenneth Roland Guda, EIC of Pinoy Weekly referring to what an elementary journalist did, during the 2nd SINAG Journalism Training Seminar held at Calamba Elementary School (CES), Feb. 26.

Anna May Batallones, Catalyst apprentice reported that she found a lost silver pearl ring and immediately told the speaker (Guda). She said that she stepped on it and thought it was a rock but when she looked, she found out it was a ring. “I think it is the right thing to do”, Batallones said upon returning the lost ring.

She said that her first option was to tell her adviser but her friends said that she should tell Guda. “Ang sinungaling ay kapatid ng magnanakaw at ayoko pong maging ganun”, She further said.
